History
In 1973, Cranberry Public Library occupied 120 square feet in the Municipal Building with a collection of two hundred books. The township population was approximately 7485 persons. In March, 1991, the library moved into its present facility and occupied 11,000 square feet in the Cranberry Township Municipal Center. With the new children's wing addition, which was added in January, 2002, the library now has 15,300 square feet and an expanded, renovated computer/reference lab.The current number of registered patrons is 26, 093 with an annual circulation of 361,770 (12/07). the number of items in the library is 92,243.The library is governed by a seven member Board of Trustees who are appointed by the Cranberry Township Board of Supervisors. The trustees serve a three year term.
