Cranberry Skate Park
Overview
Cranberry Township’s AE Ride Skatepark, behind the Municipal Center, was assembled as a community built project on a single weekend day in June of 2005. It is free and open for unsupervised use by skateboarders, in-line skaters, and BMX bicycle riders during daylight hours throughout the year, weather permitting.
Built on a 120 x 80 foot pad of polished concrete provided by a local supplier, and poured by an area contractor for about $.50 on the dollar. The park features ramps, rails, steps, platforms and benches provided by a grant from the American Eagle Outfitters Foundation
and the national organization KaBoom!.
Altogether, more than 150 volunteers from American Eagle Outfitters and the community participated in the day-long project which involved assembling and positioning the various skatepark components in time for the park’s formal opening at 4:00 that afternoon.
