Cranberry Township has been recognized as a Certified Platinum Community in the Sustainable Pennsylvania Community program.
In 2014, the Township reaffirmed its commitment to the long-term health and vitality of the community through a resolution supporting the Sustainable Pennsylvania Community program.
In 2008, Sustainable Pittsburgh and a team of independent experts conducted the Cranberry
Township Sustainability Assessment – an overview of our physical plants, municipal programs, policies, and planning processes. This assessment resulted in specific recommendations for several areas including: energy, recycling, purchasing, storm water, hiring, and more.
Recommendations were organized by the length of time and level of resources required to
produce significant results. You can view our SUSTAINABILITY REPORT CARD to see which
recommendations we have completed so far, and those we are still working on.
