Bike Pittsburgh - another avenue to work

Learn more about the history of efforts to bring a public transit system to Cranberry Township.

Cranberry Township has partnered with CommuteInfo, a program of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission, to assist residents and those who work in Cranberry, to learn more about commuter services.  This partnership is one outcome stemming from recomendations presented by the Township residents who participated on the Transportation & Mobility Task Force as part of The Cranberry Plan.

The Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission's CommuteInfo® program is coordinated in partnership with transportation management associations, transportation providers, businesses and non-profit service organizations throughout Southwestern PA.  The CommuteInfo program is designed to increase the number of people who travel to work or school by riding transit, carpooling, vanpooling, or bikepooling. Their goal is for commuters living, working or attending school within the 10-county Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission  region to choose ridesharing at least twice a week by providing them with viable options, incentives and encouragement.

 Bike Ped Plan
In the fall of 2010, the Board of Supervisors adopted The Bicyclist and Pedestrian Connections Plan. The bike/ped plan is an outgrowth of the Cranberry Plan, the Township’s comprehensive plan adopted in 2009.

During the Cranberry Plan’s development, members of the community strongly identified the need for mobility options and improved connections throughout the Township and to neighboring communities.
