Week of August  30, 2010

          Streets & Properties Personnel:

Paving Program – Storm sewer catch basins and road base repairs are continuing to be made in advance of the paving program.   

Marshall Road Project - Reconstruction of Marshall Road (Township Engineering project)      


Right-of-Way Mowing – We will be mowing grass in areas along the edge of the road (including over the guard rail and at intersections) in order to reduce visibility concerns.  Please report any visibility concerns that you have to Customer Service at (724) 776-4806 so a service request can be issued immediately.

Catch basin repairs/rebuilds – In addition to the paving program, we are repairing other storm sewer catch basins throughout the township as part of our ongoing preventative maintenance program.   

Pothole maintenance – Motorists are encouraged to report problems with pot holes by contacting the customer service department at (724) 776-4806.  

Street Name Sign Upgrade – We will be installing new style street name signs (with the Cranberry Township logo applied to the topper) throughout the township as part of a sign upgrade program.  An updated listing of the older style street name signs that we will have for sale will be made available once the signs have been removed.

Sewer & Water Field Maintenance:    

Sanitary Sewer System Maintenance - During the of the week of August 30, 2010 personnel will perform sanitary sewer line maintenance at various locations throughout the Township as weather permits.

Water Distribution System Maintenance - During the of the week of August 30, 2010 personnel will continue with hydrant maintenance at various site throughout the Township.     

Field Operations personnel will perform landscaping at areas throughout the Township that were excavated for water leak repairs and sanitary sewer maintenance (weather permitting). 

Parks and Grounds Maintenance: 

Graham Park -

Mow all sport fields twice
Mow common areas at least once
Use zero turn to bag areas that are clumping up with grass clippings
Clean restrooms and trash daily throughout park
Weedeat all fences light posts steps etc.
Water newly sodded areas at baseball by hand daily
Spray fences, guardrails, bollards and light posts with growth regulator
Get infield mix and begin infield repairs at baseball
Order screened topsoil and begin repair on wear areas on all sports fields
Irrigate all fields liberally during night throughout week so as not to water on weekend

Community Park -

Demo roofs for reconstruction on Field 4, possibly 3
Routine mowing, weed eating, restroom work

North Boundary Park -

Route mowing, weed eating, restroom work
Routine pool maintenance
Walking trail maintenance


Dog Park -

Routine maintenance – mowing, weed eating
Spray for poison/oak, inspect for holes and make repairs


Municipal Grounds -

Routine maintenance: weed eating, mowing
Fertilize w/insecticide
